A remarkable unique project! The overall development of your children’s personalities is the objective of this unique film club—by adding to their knowledge, understanding and qualitative growth, which will enable them to face up to the modern media with confidence. Since the audiovisual media will be the main source of learning in the new century, we will take help of the silver screen to offer the children: · The understanding that cinema is not only entertainment, but also much more. · The knowledge of how films are made, who all make them, how to really see and appreciate a film. · An introduction to the various techniques of filmmaking, the language involved. · The correlation of children with films and how should it ideally be. · How the children’s imagination and creativity is kindled while watching films. It will be a great pleasure monitoring it. After watching the good films we offer, children take part in-group discussion and question answer sessions. Children also have a chance to interact with the experts in various fields of filmmaking. The films are shown in pune’s National Film Archives of India (NFAI) auditorium, which is one of the best in Asia, where thousands of great movies are available. The inauguration of children’s film club was held on 14th of Jan 2001 in the NFAI auditorium, with the screening of the famous film, “HATARI”.
