the story of the film
If you had a chance to meet yourself as an 8-year-old child, would that kid be happy with who you turned out to be? In Russ Duritz's case, the answer is a big "NO!"
Bruce Willis stars as Russ Duritz, a high-powered, successful "image consultant" whose life is suddenly turned upside down when he magically meets Rusty (Spencer Breslin), himself as an 8-year-old child. Rusty is a sweet, but slightly geeky, pudgy little kid who is not at all happy with who he turns out to be -- a 40-year-old "loser" without a wife or a dog. Ironically, the kid helps Russ learn about himself and remember his dreams as a kid, in order to become the grown up he wants to be.

Question: What's it like being in a Disney movie at your age?
Answer: I think it is so much fun and it would be fun to be in a Disney movie even if I was old.
2
Question: Was playing in "Disney's The Kid" a great experience and fun?
Answer: It was such a great time that I was really sad when it was over. I'll never forget all the friends I made while shooting the movie and it will always be a special time for me to remember.

Question: When you did this movie, were your parents with you? And if not, were you lonely?
Answer: My mom and my sister were with me. I live in New York and the movie was shot in L.A., so I was away from home for about 3 1/2 months. My dad and my big brother stayed in New York. I am really lucky that they are so generous about letting us leave home for so ling. They are the best.
4
Question: What is your favorite food?
Answer: That's hard to say. Tony, the caterer on the movie, made filet mignon and lobster which I love, but I think my favorite is pizza. That is, N.Y. PIZZA!
5
Question: Was it fun making "Disney's The Kid"
Answer: Every day was a new adventure and an opportunity to have fun.
6
Question: Is this your first movie?
Answer: I actually shot a very small role in the movie "Meet the Parents," which will be released in the fall. I got to do a scene with Ben Stiller and he was really nice. It's funny that I shot that movie first but it comes out after "Disney's The Kid."

Question: How did Disney find YOU to star in their movie?
Answer: I auditioned for the part at the Disney office in New York. They included my audition on a tape with other boys and sent it to L.A. When the director and producers came to New York, they called me in to read for them. They thought I did a good job so they invited me to L.A. for a screen test. I was a little nervous but I knew my lines. It was all up to God.

Question: Which scene took the most takes?
Answer: I really don't know. I would try to guess against the director, Jon, how many takes each scene would need but I don't actually know which one it was.
9
Question: How did you get into acting?
Answer: When I was 3 or almost 3 my mom took me to an indoor playground and I met a talent manager who thought I would be a good commercial kid. So my mom started taking me on auditions.

Question: What was your favorite part about making this movie?
Answer: That's a hard question. I got a new best friend, the director Jon Turteltaub. I got to drive golf carts. I got to work with the best actor on earth, Bruce Willis. It was all great.

Question: Will you continue acting in your life?
Answer: I really, really hope so. There are also lots of other things I'd like to do too. I'd like to be a cop, or a secret agent, maybe even a director but I will always love acting.

I got started doing commercials when I was little.

Question: You're the best. How did you get the guts to do the movie in front of the whole world?
Answer: You know, it doesn't feel like you are doing a movie in front of the whole world. I know a lot of people will see this movie and I hope my performance will bless them in some way. If you are afraid to do things, you can't enjoy all the fun things there are to do.

Question: Hey Spencer! What's it like working with such a famous actor as Bruce Willis?
Answer: It's great not because he's famous but because he is so nice and generous and helpful. He helped me get better at acting every day. I've only been an actor for a short time but he always treated me like a real actor. He is amazing.
